Brad and Connie Visit the North

My parents came to visit last week and we had a great time touring the Kenai Peninsula.  We went to Homer, Seward and Nikiski.  Not to mention all of the places they stopped on the trip down from Anchorage.  Why not travel around?  Everyone knows how fun it is to road trip with a 6 month old.  Actually Eli did pretty well.  He really enjoyed the aquarium.  I was suprised by how well he tracked the fish.  He played tag with an octopus for a while too.  The timing of the visit couldn't have been better.  Right after they left, it started dumping snow and hasn't really stopped.  It was -4 degrees today.  The first time it has hit negative this winter.  We had a power outage Thursday night because of wind.  It didn't stay out long, luckily. 
In case you don't know, Jesse is now the head basketball coach at Skyview High School (where he teaches.)  Basically that means that Eli and I won't see him again until March.  They have their first tournament in Wasilla next weekend and then practice officially starts after Thanksgiving.  School is going well for me and I am getting more accustomed to Kindergarten and first graders.  Eli is doing well.  He is finally healthy and has two new teeth.  They are both on the bottom and are pretty sharp.  He isn't crawling quite yet, but he is definitely getting around.  He has started to get on all fours and rock, so it won't be long now.  I think we'll need a bigger apartment to make him happy.
We can't wait to come down for Christmas break and see the family.
