Waqaa,
Here are some pictures that I took while taking the Stebbins boys team up to Point Hope this last week for the Alaskan 2A region one basketball tournament. We left Stebbins Monday morning around 9:30 A.M. and came home Sunday at 12:00. That's a good long time to be chaperoning teenage boys. The tournament included 11 boys teams and 11 girls teams from all over Northwestern Alaska. We had a pretty successful tournament winning two blow out games over teams from Savoonga and Pilot Station and lost a tough game to Noorvik, one of the top 2A teams in Alaska.
During our stay we were taken on a tour of Point Hope which has centuries old whaling traditions. Many of the pictures that I took are of whale bones used for housing, ceremonies and burial grounds. I also had the opportunity to eat many traditional foods such as Beluga whale soup, Muktuk, which is raw Bowhead whale, and some cooked Polar bear meat. I would say if you ever have the opportunity try the Beluga whale soup.
The basketball season is now over and I'm looking forward to getting some rest. Katy and I will try and post as often as possible as the weather changes from winter into spring.
Take Care

Hi Jess and Kate:
Great pictures, except I'll let you eat the raw "stuff". Doesn't sound too tasty to me. Good job during the basketball season Jesse! Maneuvering teenagers is a real challenge. Now you know what I went through for 10 years!!!
Hurry home, I'm anxious to see you two again.
Love, Myrna
