Today we had an impromptu picnic at the beach with some kids from school. We made hot dogs and roasted marshmallows over a fire. They were very excited about it and they all wanted to help build the fire. Lots of kids and adults stopped by during the few hours that we were there and joined in the fun. We lucked out with weather, it didn't start raining until we got home. We have been getting a lot of rain lately and the weather is definitely getting colder.
Volleyball practice started for me on Monday. I have a pretty good group of kids and I think the season will be really fun. We aren't close enough to other schools to play games during the week so we will travel on the weekends. We will fly out Friday afternoon and return Sunday afternoon. We will play 5 other schools each weekend, sleep at the school and eat in the cafeteria. :0) I will take 8 kids with me each time (because that is how many will fit on the plane).
I am hoping that we can make it to state. I would love to eat out and stay in a hotel. State will be in Anchorage, December 6-8. Stebbins has never been to state and hasn't had much of a winning team in the past. Wishful thinking on my part!
Hope to hear from you soon!

Great pictures. The kids look really sweet and happy to be having a picnic. Can't wait to visit in a few weeks.Hope the weather holds! The art work looks very cool also. Kate, good luck with your team. Love and miss you both Sherry
Sounds like a pretty rigorous volleyball schedule! So much for planning all weekend ;-) How old are the girls on your team? I remember loving weekend tournements, but I don't know how I would have liked staying over night in the gym and eating in the cafeteria. You are diving in there...that's for sure! You haven't changed a bit! --April
