Well, Jesse and I are off on a new adventure. We have accepted teaching jobs in Alaska. We will be teaching in a village called Stebbins just across Norton Sound from Nome. The village is on the Bering Sea and is home to about 500 people. We will be teaching in a K-12 school where 170 kids attend. I will be teaching 4th grade and Jesse will be teaching 7th. There are no roads in our village so we will be flying a lot. Our district headquarters is in Unalakleet and we will be spending our first 3 days there with all of the new teachers. Our adventure will start on August 6th.

Kate and Jesse,
Thanks for posting a message on my blog -- it's nice to hear from other new teachers. It seems we've all survived the packing and paperwork... well, actually I still have more work to do on both. But, I am so close to being finished that I'm sure I'll survive. It will be a pleasure to meet you at the new teacher orientation.
