Well, we just returned to Stebbins after spending the holidays in Ashford and Graham. The picture above was actually taken in Ashford where we got about two feet of snow over the break. That's Katy and Roslyn enjoying the warm weather and trying to get a sun tan. We had a really good time visiting with our families, sledding, snowboarding and going to a Sonics game. However, most of our time was spent eating at either Connie's Diner in Ashford or visiting other restaurants like, Red Robin x 2, Wendys 2, The Rock, Jamba Juice, Starbucks etc...
Our return to Alaska was a bit of rude awakening. When we got into Nome it was negative 20 degrees outside. A change of about 50 degrees from the balmy 30 degrees in Ashford. We got home to find that our next door neighbor and fellow teacher who had been taking care of our apartment and cats over break had left the window open overnight. The downstairs of our apartment had basically frozen solid. Luckily we had the heat on upstairs which stayed relatively warm and everything in the house, including the cats, recovered.
Basketball season is now in full swing. I will be traveling this Friday to a village about an hours flight south of us called Chevak to play our first basketball game. The team is excited and looking forward to the game, I think that we are ready.
We hope everyone had a great holiday and we will talk to you soon.

Welcome home! I'm glad you had a good break down south for a few weeks. I hope the rest of your winter goes well and your windows stay closed.
Jesse, are you still selling sweatshirts? I want to buy one if you are - let me know!
Thanks for the update -
Josh
It was great seeing you guys over Christmas. Jesse, good luck with your games this weekend. Mom
Hi AuntKate & Uncle Jess,
I miss you when you are in Alaska.
I love you,
ROSLYN
It was great to see you over the holiday. Kate keeps threatening to go directly to Hawaii next Christmas to warm up, but I think the re-entry to Stebbins will be just too tough. Better to come to WA so you don't lose all of our acclimatization. Good luck with Basketball!
